The Process of Coming to Pieces

Solo Exhibition  - Georgian Gallery, Ards Arts Centre

Friday 5 May - Saturday 27 May 2023

‘The Process of Coming to Pieces’ was an exhibition about memory and material. It was composed from fragments of experience, sensations of being adrift in a city, on route to somewhere, catching reflections and shadows in passing. It was a love letter to windows, as portals between one place and another, framing different perspectives and views, breaking up and interrupting thoughts.

The title came from the dictionary definition of ‘disintegration’ - everything material must break down eventually, and so will the immaterial; feelings and memory. How this process takes place is never fixed or certain and as such, almost all the work in this show had an element of interaction or modularity in design or display, much of it was not made to last but rather embraced fragility and ephemerality.
